Betsy Munnell received her B.A. from Harvard College and her J.D. from Harvard Law School. A noted deal lawyer, she was a partner for 25 years at Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge (now Edwards Wildman & Palmer), in its Boston office, and was among the core group of young partners responsible for the growth of her firm's nationally recognized media and communications finance and M&A practice.
In addition to building a national practice, Betsy was one of the chief architects of her firm's diversity program, promoting the recruitment, retention and advancement of women and minority lawyers within her firm and in the legal profession at large.
In law firms, law schools and affinity bar associations, Betsy is an outspoken advocate for intensive training in business and financial skills and business generation, particularly for associates who may otherwise advance to junior partnership underequipped to manage critical client relationships or originate firm revenue.
She serves as a Visiting J.D. Advisor at Harvard Law School's Office for Career Services, where she provides an accelerated transition to law firm practice for students from the Women’s Law Association. Betsy is also Senior Law Advisor to The Fullbridge Program, a coaching intensive XBA business education program for law firm associates.
A native of New York City, Betsy lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with her husband and three daughters.
